The Journey Behind Adulting.tech

Two years ago, I sold everything in Vancouver and moved to a 10-acre farm in the relative middle of nowhere. Debt-free. Time to think. Time to learn. Time to invest in myself.

I spent those two years chipping away at stone, trying to see through the veil and understand how business actually works. How marketing psychology works. How computers interface with humans. I studied Alex Hormozi, Dan Martell, and mapped out in my head how different business systems fit together to produce profit. Lead magnets. Lead converters. Service delivery. Flywheel effects.

20+ Years of Understanding People

Before this pivot, I spent over 20 years cold calling - both over the phone and in person. I walked through thousands of business doors and made it my job to develop rapport with whoever was on the other side. I've consulted with thousands of different kinds of businesses and interacted with millions of people. Including my 4.5 years at McDonald's, the number of people I've built rapport with is staggering.

I took improv classes. I studied comedians, elicitation techniques, body language, and voice tone for years. This wasn't just sales training - it was deep education in human psychology and behavior. All of that experience now informs how I design an app that actually understands how people think and what they need.

Six months ago, I was building a business concept to help companies integrate robots - HVAC robots, healthcare robots - into providing services and completing repairs for their customers. I ran into snags with liability around performing certain tasks, current dexterity levels of robots, and integration partners for systems at that scale. Plus the robots I wanted to use weren't cheap.

So I pivoted. I made the app for home maintenance and it expanded from there.

Here's the real reason this exists:

I'm 42 now. No excuses for poor or uninformed performance. It's on me. And how do I know how well I'm doing? Everyone is in their own home and hardly anybody discusses home maintenance tasks and getting one's life in order during dinner parties or meetups. So I built this app to help me and hopefully others.

I looked at my life and wished I could understand how well I'm actually functioning and performing as an adult. I have ADHD. I'm managing a home. Aging parents who need help but won't always ask. Kids. A schedule that flies by every week. I needed something that would help me be the best I can be at maintaining my home and organizing my life.

It started with home maintenance and kept growing. I studied Human-Computer Interfacing psychology (it's really fascinating!) and programmed the app to keep things as simple as possible. Provide users with tangible quick wins and evolve with them. The app helps with regular tasks and provides support for senior loved ones - keeping their brains engaged and involved with simple tasks so the sandwich generation has time to work on other projects around the house.

As I was adding to the knowledge database and instructions, I saw that people might be interested in learning and skill development too. It's really an app for me because it's enabling me to learn and grow and be better at home maintenance and managing the challenges of having aging parents and kids and a schedule that flies by every week.

I want you to have an experience that is empowering and gives you confidence that you can get your home organized and life together. You can surf on top of the wave of life instead of getting crushed by the wave.

Built with AI. Designed with intention.

I'm aided by AI. I've been dipping my toe into understanding HCI and computer science. It's really fascinating. I don't pretend to know coding to any sort of competent level - it would have taken me 20 years to learn all of the human psychology, gamification psychology, home maintenance database, and instructions. It's been cool to apply all the sales, business, and marketing knowledge I've picked up into building something that actually helps people navigate the complexity of modern adult life.
